These beaded earrings will enchant your customers with their organic flair with a modern look. The large dangling black bead is made from organic tagua, carved into an oblong shape. There is a small silver ring through the tagua bead with 3 small dried natural seeds and two silver beads. The combination of elements make for an interesting, casual and fun look.
Using sustainable materials, like tagua, from the Amazon Rainforest, helps the local people to earn a living, and sets a high value on keeping the Rainforest intact, rather than clear cutting it. Cutting down the trees and clearing out the rainforest isn’t a good strategy. Approximately 80% of the soils in the humid tropics are acidic and infertile. Without trees to hold the soil in place, the soil becomes prone to erosion. Rainfall can then easily wash away remaining nutrients, so that what’s left behind is impoverished and even barren. Because the land can no longer be cultivated, inhabitants move on and clear more land, only to repeat the cycle of destruction.
MyWholesaleBoutique works with a local women’s cooperative to create these earrings. We work on a fair trade basis. The women in the cooperative are hoping to find new markets through our partnership and bring their lovely work to a wider audience.
