Tagua comes from the Ivory palm in the Ecuadorian Rainforest. Ivory palms grow as a natural and important part of the Amazon rainforest, providing a role in the ecosystems where it is found.  They usually grow in the more swampy areas and provide food and shelter for a wide range of animals and other plants.

When you purchase this necklace you are purchasing from artisans who enjoy creating their wares, the necklace holds that positive energy and it spreads. This necklace is made by an artisan in a women’s cooperative in the Andes of Ecuador.

  • Made with sturdily knotted together tagua ovals.
  • Finished with a sliding adjustable clasp.
  • Suggested retail price range: $35 to $42.
  • The necklace is 64 cm around with 4 cm by 3 cm tagua beads.
  • Made from tagua nuts sustainably harvested in Ecuador.
  • Fair trade prices are paid to the artisan who made this necklace.

Once we receive your order, we will place the order with the artisan(s) who will create the item. The items are made once the order is received to ensure the best quality. The items are not sitting in a warehouse somewhere. 

We will communicate the length of time it will take for you to get your order, this will generally be between two to six weeks depending on the size of your order, and the local availability of the inputs into the products you order.

All the items on our store include a weight. As you put items into your shopping cart, the weight is totalled and the cost of the shipping is calculated. All of our shipping is done by weight from Ecuador to your country.

You have an option of using the postal system or using UPS for shipping.  UPS is more expensive, but they will help you more with the customs declarations.  The postal system is less expensive, but you may have to go to your local postal office to complete a customs declaration.

All of our items are shipped with an invoice detailing the items and the amounts paid for the items so that any customs fees can be appropriately applied.
